Yankees Post-Season Is Cut Short After 3-2 Loss to Detroit
The Yankees' dreams of a 28th World Series title were dashed on Thursday as they were eliminated from the playoffs in a 3-2 loss to the Detroit Tigers.
The Yankees struggled to score all game, stranding 11 runners. Their only runs came on a solo home run by Robinson Cano, and a walk to Mark Teixeira in the seventh inning.
Doug Fister earned the win for Detroit, who will advance to play the Texas Rangers in the American League Championship Series.
