EarnForex.com Monthly Newsletter
*February 1, 2011*
Welcome to the latest issue of EarnForex.com newsletter — February
2011.
In this issue of EarnForex.com newsletter I will remind you about the
most important Forex-related events of the last month and will also
show you the list of the site's latest updates.
*
Overview of the major currency pairs' performance in January*
*EUR/USD* — went up significantly after showing some weakness
during the first week of the month. It was at its maximum at 1.3757 on
January 27, at its minimum at 1.2873 on January 10, finishing the
month at 1.3690.
*GBP/USD* — rose to its medium-term maximums in January. The
highest monthly rate was at 1.6059 on January 18, while the lowest —
at 1.5405 on January 7. GBP/USD finished January trading at 1.6011.
*USD/JPY* — was in a strong uptrend during the first week, but then
proceeded to a gradual downtrend. The pair rose to as high as 83.67 on
January 7, reaching a bottom at 81.06 on January 3 and closing the
month with the 82.05 rate.
*EUR/JPY* — demonstrated a strong bullish trend last month. The
monthly high was at 114.00 on January 27, the monthly low — at
106.82 on January 10. Trading ended at 112.36 for this currency pair.
*GBP/JPY* — was growing for almost whole month but went sideways
near the end. The maximum level for this pair was at 132.66 on January
27, while the minimum — at 125.76 on January 3. The month's trading
ended at 131.38 for GBP/JPY.
*
Fundamental background of the past month*
January was rather rich on events. First, there was a report on
the Chinese economy growth in the fourth quarter of 2010 — it
showed
a faster than expect pace and also provided more inflation worries.
Second, the
speculations that the Bank of England will have to raise its
reference interest
rate soon shook the market and helped the pound greatly. Third, the
end of month
was strongly influenced by the civil protests in North Africa and
Middle
East — riots in Tunisia, Egypt, Oman and Algeria weighted on the
global stock markets, reducing the appeal of the "risky" currencies
on Forex.
